I'm now wishing I'd printed more of the first colour as a base. I wasn't sure how the first colour would look once dry, but it looks good, oh well, blue next to fill in all the gaps!!!

Me&Yu Monday Cycle Meeting
Even though we work together/live together it is only really once a week when Angie & myself get to sit down and plan whats happening with Me&Yu (and sometimes we even miss this if we've got a lot to do), anyway as the weather was so lovely yesterday, and Angies got a new tricycle we decided to go on a bike ride along Blackpool promenade and have a sort of 'business meeting' in the sun.

Handmade & Handprinted Tropical T-Shirt - Sample
After finally finishing printing the tropical fabric, I managed to teach myself how to use our new sewing machine and produce a quick sample Tropical print, handmade and handprinted t-shirt.
We should hopefully be getting these instore and online late next week, the plan had been to have them ready for this Saturday but unfortunately they had to be put back as we had so much work to do re-stocking our shop after a busy weekend and re-stocking one of our bigger stockists.
Here's a sneak peak anyway!!!!!

Tidy Studio & Sale
I've spent the last few days tidying our studio in order to accommodate some new machinery and it's probably the cleanest and most organised since we moved in!!!. Anyway all this cleaning has uncovered some old stock that we'd forgotten about so in the next few days we're going to be adding loads of sale items to the online store. I've made a bit of a start so check them out here
In the meantime here's a few abstract shots from the now tidy Me&Yu studio

Moving Forward
For the 6 or so years we have been working at this thing called Me&Yu, our goal has always been to be able to produce handmade as well as handprinted t-shirts at a reasonable price. In the past we have produced random small runs of handmade and handprinted t-shirts, but have never really had the sewing set-up to make it work properly - you may not believe this but it takes 3 or 4 different machines to make a t-shirt properly.
So today is an important day for us as we've invested in some new machinery that will hopefully get us someway towards our dream of having a complete in-house t-shirt production facility, from printing fabric through to making up the final t-shirt.
Initially we will be producing limited edition runs of all over handprinted (and handmade) t-shirts, vests and slouch tops, whilst still retaining our range of £15 handprinted t-shirts, but with the final goal being to produce everything ourselves (this may take a couple more years!!).
Now I know that by law every blog post requires a photograph so here's a picture of one of the machines we have purchased, it's called a coverstitch and basically it is used to create the hem and sleeve hem of a t-shirt, because of the stretch of the fabric used in t-shirts the hems must be able to be stretched without breaking the stitch - that is all this is for!!!!!
