A Tale of Two Photoshoots

It seems like a while ago - but it was only two weeks when we had a busy couple of days photographing all the latest designs. Our photoshoots always end up being crammed together in half term when our lovely models are free from school and college.

The first shoot was expertly taken by Chrissy Mathew - modelled by Jac Bevon and Heather May Hughes. The idea of this shoot was to show how our designs are truly unisex - emphasised by both models wearing the same design. It works really well - and shows how you can get a completely different look by choosing bigger or smaller sizes.

These are my favourite shots from the afternoon:

The following day, I got the chance to brush up on my photography skills - we were blessed with another gorgeous day and the lovely Anna Davies modelled some of our latest hand-made and hand-printed womenswear designs. We've got some beautiful vintage inspired printed floral shorts and dresses - perfect for those long hot summer days:

But if you want to indulge your wilder side we have some grungey printed satin slip dresses - perfect for letting your hair down...

Or how about some sexy printed shorts with our oversize foreverland vest - perfect for a night out!

Bored with graphic design

I've spent the last 10 or so years of my life involved in graphic design in one way or another, more recently it's been purely on Me&Yu things (which in itself is alot of stuff) and before that on more commercial work for other clients. The other day as I was working on some new posters for the shop I started to think that actually I'm a bit bored with just doing straightforward design work - ie working on my mac putting text with images - so I'm working on a new flyer using a more hands on approach. I've begun by scratching into the surface of a photograph and my next step will be to collage some fashion shots on top of this and then probably draw or paint on top of that - here's a pic of the first step, I'll post more as I continue.

We Are Five - Day Three - Prize Draw in Afflecks

Before and After

We found these amusing images on The Opening Hours an Australian street culture/art blog, showing a wall in Sydney that had featured some work by Australian graffiti artistst, but had then been painted over.
